Rule Joy Trammell Rubio is providing complete design services for Corbellus Capital's 50-key boutique hotel in historic Charleston, South Carolina. The 4-story hotel is designed to provide the highest level of comfort and service to both business and leisure travelers. The premier downtown Charleston location provides guests with the ability to walk to the surrounding fine dining restaurants, retail shops, theaters, parks, and other beautiful Low Country attractions. Retail and restaurant spaces will also be situated on the street level of the hotel, contributing to the walk-ability of the neighborhood. A gallery showcasing the work of local artists will be located on the ground floor, with hotel keys occupying the second and third floors. The fourth floor amenities level features a rooftop lounge and meeting spaces, both with south-facing views over the neighborhood.

The project is designed to fit into the historic fabric of downtown Charleston by making use of existing structures on the site.  One existing building on the site will be renovated and integrated into the new hotel, with the facades and internal courtyards of other buildings on the block also contributing. The boutique hotel will be clad in a high-performance stucco system with historically accurate steel windows fabricated to replicate other windows in the district. The project has already received local preliminary Board of Architectural Review approval.
