RJTR provided architectural and interior design services for Piedmont House, a mixed-use project developed by Wood Partners in Midtown Atlanta. Main access to the building is on 12th Street, with additional access from 11th Street & Dickson Place. The 22-story tower contains 198 residential units, 2,500 SF of retail space on the street level, and 371 parking spaces for residents and retail customers. A landscaped amenity deck on the seventh floor serves the 300,000 GSF of residential area and includes a swimming pool, grilling stations, a fitness center, a clubroom with baby grand piano, and a private wine alcove. A second amenity space is located on the 22nd floor rooftop and overlooks Piedmont Park. The interior capitalizes on the building’s architecture by emphasizing the expansive spatial volume, taking advantage of the cross-traffic flow created by the two main lobby entrances and profits from the abundant amount of glass which frames the fantastic views. A simple sophistication where the clean line of rich materials is highlighted by purposeful lighting and accented with exquisite art creating a classy, timeless, urban interior. Piedmont House strikes a balance of subtle stone-like textures and warm wood tones with striking elements such as eye-catching light fixtures and a little glitz from opulent textiles. This project is NGBS Bronze.
