The Morehouse School of Medicine’s Lee Street campus extension will be a transformative, mixed-use living and learning community in Atlanta’s Historic West End.  Situated at the highly visible corner of Lee Street and Park Street in Southwest Atlanta, the project will deliver housing, health and wellness facilities, retail, and office space for the Atlanta University Center Consortium Schools.  The project’s 187 residences include 34 studios and one bedroom units, 148 two bedroom units, and 5 three bedroom units.  The building’s social amenities will include dedicated study rooms on every level, a generous clubroom, and an 18,000sf landscaped courtyard that is open to the sky.  The building’s striking – yet simple – architecture will reflect its position as the gateway to the Atlanta University Center.  Exposed steel cross-bracing elements will punctuate the building’s Lee Street façade, and the generous glass behind will allow for welcome views into the building as well as expansive views out of the building toward the Morehouse School of Medicine’s historic campus and the Atlanta skyline beyond.
