RJTR is responsible for the architecture for this medical office building in Tampa, Florida. The Laser Spine Institute will consolidate its Tampa, Florida-based national corporate headquarters and regional ambulatory surgery center into a new six-story, 180,000 sf medical office building. The building is located near Tampa, Florida’s International Airport within Avion Park. Architecturally illuminated at nighttime, the building will be an identifiable image in the surrounding Tampa skyline day and night.  RJTR has tailored the site design and interior core of the building to meet LSI’s programmatic needs. The patient experience is initiated at the large entry porte cochere providing access to the building lobby.  A covered walkway from the adjacent parking deck passes by the site’s landscaped healing garden in route to the main lobby entrance.  LSI staff direct access to the building by means of a covered elevated walkway connecting the parking deck to the building.  The patient consultation clinic, spinal diagnostic center with MRI imagining suite and café serving breakfast and lunch radiate from the central reception lobby on the building’s first floor.  LSI’s 29,000 sf regional ambulatory surgery center with 10 operating rooms is located on the second floor. The structural system for this floor is designed to provide vibration dampening necessary for operation procedures.  In addition to the building’s 3 passenger elevators and dedicated service elevator, three additional elevators serve the first three floors to accommodate LSI’s surgery center vertical transportation needs. Corporate administrative offices are located on floors three through six.
